About

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia invites you to join the Young Patrons’ Circle, a dynamic new membership program for people in their 20s to 40s who want to immerse themselves in the rich cultural life of Nova Scotia.  The Circle is a member-based organization dedicated to creating intimate encounters with the visual arts and artists working in Atlantic Canada.

Harking back to the innovative tradition of Halifax being a leader in Canadian creativity, the Circle honours the commitment to bringing the best in contemporary art to Canada in the same way that Nova Scotian predecessors brought the first public exhibition of fine art in the country in Halifax in the mid nineteenth century.

The Circle supports the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in its desire to engage young people in all facets of arts and culture, particularly Canadian and Atlantic Canadian contemporary art. Funds raised through memberships will endow an annual purchase fund for contemporary Canadian works for the permanent collection, creating an enduring legacy for members of the Young Patrons’ Circle at the Gallery.

We welcome all young art enthusiasts to join the Circle and unite with a community of like-minded individuals.

The group, a first-ever for the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, is being spear-headed by a committee of 14 volunteers.
